- Evolutionary success is attributed to the relative size of the cortex compared to body mass, not total brain volume (whales and elephants possess larger brains).

Strategies for Enhancing Individual and Organizational Creativity
- Proliferating Options: Individuals must force themselves to reject the first, most obvious solution to avoid the neural path of least resistance.
- Spectrum Coverage: Creative processes require generating a wide range of ideas from incremental to "wacky" to determine the boundaries of the possible.
- Breaking Good: Successful entities must actively dismantle or remix their own past successes (e.g., Manet remaking wood engravings, Picasso remaking Manet) to avoid stagnation.
- Failure Tolerance: The brain's architecture appears designed to generate "beautiful fiascos" through parallel simulations, making failure a necessary component of the process.
AI and the Future of the Economy
- Current AI excels at narrow categorization tasks (e.g., distinguishing millions of images) but lacks the broad intelligence and adaptability of a human toddler.
- Society is transitioning from a manufacturing to an information economy, and ultimately toward a "creativity economy."
