Fireside Chat, Interview
A fireside Chat with May Habib, CEO & Co Founder of Writer ft. Rana Yared, GP, Balderton Capital
- Agentic AI capabilities are projected to become genuinely useful in enterprise settings within approximately six months, with revenue impact expected to be immediate and a significant "agentic premium" on solved customer problems anticipated.
- The industry currently occupies "era 3.0," defined by a disparity between potential and actual outcomes, necessitating ROI delivery through a step-function of value achieved within the first 30 days, 90 days, and one year to maintain client interest.
- Greenfield opportunities, such as in blood testing, may enable Direct-to-Consumer operations utilizing only 5% of the traditional headcount and cost, while legacy providers are expected to soon develop agentic data interfaces despite current architectural limitations.
- Medium-term adoption will involve a "shift and lift" or "lift and shift" of Standard Operating Procedures via a hybrid of deterministic and non-deterministic processes rather than complete transformation, as the agent development lifecycle evolves to require Git-like functionality for prompts, tools, and rules.
- In the long term, systems failing to adapt will be absorbed by agents, while transformers will internalize entire databases; technology providers are expected to soon enable auditable "traceability" to build trust in non-deterministic reasoning.
- Secure, scalable, and reliable systems are identified as the primary barriers to adoption in 2025, though a paradigm shift toward models requiring significantly less context for complex tasks is imminent.
- The AI sector is expected to consolidate around three product surfaces: agent building, agent interaction and discovery, and agent security and scaling, with culture and iterative speed cited as the only true moats for great AI businesses.
- Rider intends to dominate the generative AI "full stack" design, expecting to reinvent its capabilities and lead industry successes alongside a "big shakeout" of undercapitalized firms, while maintaining an expanding circle of companies, particularly in coding, that are too specialized to be acquired by OpenAI.
- Ownership of a proprietary stack is predicted to allow companies to own their destiny by continuously delivering scale, complexity, accuracy, and reliability that external dependencies cannot provide.
