Geoff Ralston's Intro - Startup Investor School Day 1
- The live course will run for four days, covering fundamentals of startup investing, mechanics, and decision-making processes with perspectives from experienced investors, while concluding with a forward-looking analysis of the industry expected to undergo significant changes over the next decade.
- Daily schedules anticipate doors opening at 9:30 a.m. and classes commencing promptly at 10 a.m., with sessions typically concluding around 12:30 p.m., though today's session is projected to end near 12 p.m. or slightly later.
- A 10-minute break is scheduled for 10:50 a.m. with the expectation that it may extend beyond the allotted time, followed by a second part of the course beginning at 11 a.m.
- Audience engagement will be structured with questions generally deferred to a final Q&A session, unless an instructor intervenes, while streaming viewers can submit queries via the #YCSIS Twitter hashtag subject to time limitations.
- Attendees may receive an invitation to YC's Winter 2018 Demo Days on March 19th and 20th, which will be conducted virtually for most, with ten randomly selected participants invited in person.
- Feedback will be solicited through an end-of-class survey and via real-time email to jeffg@ycombinator.com, covering content effectiveness and gaps.
- An online repository at investors.startupschool.org will be established to house permanent course information, with potential content additions subject to review of suggestions sent to startupschool@ycombinator.com.
- Logistical provisions include snacks and lukewarm coffee, with a note that while the 9:30 a.m. door opening is planned, certainty regarding availability is not guaranteed.
- The curriculum will include deeper dives on select topics, though these will not be numerous, and the instructor lineup is anticipated to be highly relevant to the full cohort.
