Leading scientists and philanthropists convened to address the projected surge in Alzheimer's prevalence and its looming $1.1 trillion economic impact by 2050, shifting research focus from the failed amyloid hypothesis to tau-targeted interventions and early prodromal treatment. The panel highlighted strategic initiatives such as the TAO Consortium's $100 million investment in tauopathies, the proposed $10 billion global social impact bond, and new collaborative models designed to accelerate FDA approval through consortium-based data sharing. By combining precision medicine, open science, and stigma-reduction advocacy, these stakeholders aim to de-risk early-stage development and attract pharmaceutical investment to prevent a global health crisis.
